The Greenway

The Famous Greenway is a breathtaking trail spanning 46km of the Co. Waterford cosatline. Starting in Dungarvan and finishing in the historic port of Waterford city you’ll see many stunning views such as the Kilmacthomas Viaduct or Mount Congreve Estate Gardens. The start of The Greenway in Dungarvan is locasted just 10 minutes from our gate and is highly recommended for those looking for a great day out. The Greenway is only 10 minutes drive from our gate or a 15 minute cycle.

Coligan Woods

Coligan Woods is a picturesque woodland running along side Colligan River in a stunning Valley. Only a 9 minute drive or 20 minute cycle from The Getaway this is an absolute must for those looking to reconnect with nature.

The Kelly Comeragh Challange is a loop trail for experianced cyclists. The route will bring you all around the Dungarvan area giving scenic veiws of The Comeraghs Mountains, Waterford Coastline and Waterford Country side. The route is mostly based on tarmac roads and has a combination of uphill and downhill stretches.

Local Lanes

We have many scenic lanes around us at The Getaway which are perfect for cycling at all levels. As we are situated in the countryside at the foot of the Comeragh Mountains we offer some magnificent vistas of the Comeraghs as well as the Knockmealdown Mountains off in the distance.

The Getaway to Bridgie Terries Bar & Restaurant

Bridgie Terries Bar & Restaurant is a famous local restraunt well known for their great food and drink. Located less than a 10 minutes drive or 20 minutes cycle this is a highly recommended route! A taxi service is also available and can collect bikes. (Please note that “The Local” is the name of a local pub so ask for Bridgies by name please to avoid confusion)
