The Getaway Terms & Conditions

Please read this carefully. By booking with us, you agree to the following

Covid-19 

If Inter County or International travel is restricted, we will credit your booking for another date in 2021/2023. If we are unable to find an agreeable date, we offer a full refund minus a €15 admin charge.

If we must close due to Covid-19 we will offer you a full refund.

Booking Information

Online bookings cannot be made on the intended day of arrival, please ring (+353 87 352 7851) or email us (thegetaway.care@gmail.com) in these instances.

For stays that are 3 nights or less the full payment is made at the time of booking.

For stays that are 4 nights or more a 50% payment is made at the time of booking with the remainder being paid upon arrival (Can be cash or card).

Conditions of Booking

  • The person making the booking must be over 18 years of age.
  • We do not take groups larger than 5 people per unit.
  • If the terms and conditions are broken by any members of your group, severely enough that you are asked to leave the premises or denied access, then no refund will be given.
  • We reserve the right to refuse access or terminate the booking of any guest(s) whose party make-up or behaviour interferes or may interfere with, the general comfort of our other guests or the neighbouring properties. In this event no refunds will be made. NB: We do not cater for large groups of party goers and Hens or Stags. (A €100 noise tolerance deposit may be taken at our discretion.)
  • We ask that you keep noise levels to a minimum after 11pm.
  • Well behaved dogs only are welcome, with a maximum of 2 dogs per booking.

Arrival / Departure Times

Arrivals – From 13:00pm (Lunch time) (A late arrivals fee of €10 will apply after 20.00pm). After 11:00pm and without prior notice the booking will be forfeit and no refund will be made.
 
Departures – Please vacate by 12:00pm (Midday) (A late leaving fee of €10 will apply after 13:00am lunch time). If a customer has not vacated their bay by 14:00pm (Without reason) they will be charged for another day’s stay as our site is small and this will begin to affect other bookings.

Booking Confirmation

Following your booking, you will receive a Booking Form & Receipt. Please bring a digital or paper copy of this with you when you come. 

NB: The submission of a completed booking form or telephone conversation, does NOT constitute a contract between the guest and The Getaway. A contract shall only exist, once the Booking Form is presented on arrival by the person who made the booking, and the party is seen to be as described and in accordance with the Terms & Conditions.

On Arrival (Registration, Payment & Customer Information)

Please register when you arrive at The Getaway by texting or calling on +353 87 352 7851. (We will be about the place somewhere!)

Please pay any remaining balance for your stay upon arrival. Can be made by Cash, Credit or Debit Card. NB: All prices are issued in Euro currency.

Our Information Board (situated near the Service Bay) gives a general guide to the park facilities and to the local area. If you require any further advice or assistance, please just ask.

Parking Bay allocation

Please only park in the bay you booked online as you will be asked to move if you do not. For those new to our site please check the site map when booking.

Change or cancellation of the holiday by us

If, due to circumstances beyond our control, or in the event of serious breakdown of our services, other emergencies or we are forced to change or alter in any way the services or Parking Bays you may have booked, we reserve the right to offer an alternative where possible, or to cancel the reservation with a full refund. No form of compensation will accompany this refund.

No refunds/discounts will be given for inclement weather, late arrivals, or early departures.

The Getaway reserves the right to refuse entry to any party for reasons which are beyond their control and furthermore without having to give a reason for the denied access. In these rare circumstances, a full refund shall be issued. No form of compensation will accompany this refund.

Change or cancellation of the holiday by you

If you are wishing to change your dates, we request that you advise us no later than 2 days prior to the planned date of arrival and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If a suitable date cannot be worked out close to the time of the original booking, the booking can be credited for another date in that season or the next. Please email or ring us, when you wish to use this credit so we may make a booking for you. (Please don’t use our website in this instance as you will be charged full price for making the booking this way).

If you do not advise us about changes 2 days prior to your arrival date and you our unable to make the booked date, your Booking will be forfeit and no refund will be given.

If the holiday is being cancelled by the customer for any reason, a Refund will only be given if we are advised 14 days prior to the date of arrival and an Admin Fee of €15 will be charged. Outside of the 14-day notice period, no refund will be given. (It is advisable to take out Travel Insurance.)

Extension of stay

If you wish to extend your stay, please check with reception asap. We cannot guarantee availability or that it will be the same Bay but will try our best to accommodate you.

Day Visitors

You are welcome to have visitors but please arrange to meet your guests at the gate when they arrive, where upon they must register at reception.

Visitors who are on the park after 9pm will be chargeable as an Overnight Guest at €5 per person.

Welfare & Safety

  • Please make yourself aware of the fire assembly point situated at the entrance of the site. 
  • No person under 18 years is permitted to stay at The Getaway, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • For their own safety and welfare, Children must always be under the supervision of a responsible person. Children must not be allowed to disturb the other guests.
  • Noise levels must be kept to a minimum after 11pm.
  • We insist that Alcohol be consumed sensibly and that your enjoyment of it is always kept discreet. Any anti-social behaviour, whether under the influence of alcohol or not will result in you being ordered to leave the premises.
  • Open fires are not allowed anywhere on site, other than at the Fire Circle. Logs can be purchased for this; please ask at Reception.
  • BBQs are only permitted if raised off the ground and must always be supervised. 
  • We provide 16-amp Electric Hook Up and only low voltage Caravan rated appliances can be used. The use of generators is not permitted.

Dogs

We only allow well behaved dogs, with a maximum of 2 dogs per booking.

We are situated amongst working farmland, with livestock in close proximity so your dogs must always be kept on a lead.

Under no circumstances can you walk your dogs in the surrounding fields, including the Mountains, as sheep are roaming freely. (Be aware that Farmers have a legal right to shoot dogs found worrying their animals!)

We provide a fenced Dog Run where you can let your dog off briefly under supervision.

Always clean up after your dog (Bags and a bin are provided at the Dog Run).

Please do not abuse these rules or we will be forced to stop taking dogs. If you see anyone else not abiding by them, please do advise us.  We reserve the right to require that the owner remove their dog, if it is a nuisance or danger to other guests. No refund will be given.

Liability

The person making the booking is responsible for the conduct of their group and will be liable for any damages/loss caused to any buildings, property and equipment of The Getaway, fellow guests, and surrounding neighbours.

Customers must ensure that their property is secured. Your personal belongings, vehicles and their accessories and contents are left at your own risk. The Getaway or its staff will not be liable for the loss, theft, or damage of any property.

The Getaway, its facilities and the surrounding area, are used entirely at the customer’s own risk. We or our staff will not be liable for any injury, accident, or mishap to any person in the park or its surroundings. 

Eco Friendly

Due to our Eco-friendly Wetland System, only Chemical Toilet waste containing Green Chemical can be emptied into our disposal point. If you do not already use it, please arrive empty and Green Chemical can be purchased from us in 75ml units (for 10 litres). 

We strive to recycle as much as possible, therefore we ask you take the time to split your rubbish according to the bins provided.

We have a “Leave No Trace” policy and ask that you always put your rubbish in the bins provided at The Getaway and implore you do not leave litter in the surrounding countryside.

Data Protection

All information supplied on the booking form will be stored on computers for administrative purposes only.

Complaints

In the event of a complaint, please speak to staff immediately. Complaints which are not brought to our attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.

Lost Property

Any personal items/property left behind on departure will be returned to you on receipt of a stamped, self-addressed envelope or pre-arranged courier pick up. Items will not be held after 14 days.
