Beaches

Cunnigar/An Coinigéar

The Cunnigar is a sand spit extending 2.5km into Dungarvan bay and provides great views of both An Rinn and Dungarvan. The beach is easily accessed just of the R674 and has parking available. The beach makes a great place to sit and watch the sun set and then head of to one of the many local pubs!

Clonea Beach

Clonea Beach is a 5km long stretch of sand beach with easy access from the R675 and parking available. The beach has lots of water sports available aswell as a small shop and quick access to Dungarvan and the Greenway.

Stradbally Cove

Stradbally Cove is a lovely little bay nestled between hills on either sied showing stunng rock formations which lead down to the sea. A well hidden beach located in a stunning area it is well worth a visit.

Ballyvoyle Cove

Ballyvole Cove is a small shingle beach with limited parking, dont let this put you of though as its an idyllic beach with a lot of character and is nice spot to relax in on a quiet evening.

Ardmore Beach

Ardmore beach is a very accessible sandy beach located right next to the town of Ardmore. The beach itself has a wide range of activities and is a great fmaily day out. The location has many historic sites including an castle and a ship wreck. Parking is available.

Rivers

Colligan River

Colligan River passes through Dungarvan and offers many activities including boat hire, kayaking, fishing and walks such as Colligan Woods. The river is 24km along in total and according to some is the fastest moving river in europe.

River Finisk

River Finisk is a river that feeds into the mighty Black Water river. The river itself has great historica signifigance and is part of the history of many local towns. The river has many stunning locations along it such as Richmond House or Dromana Gate

Lakes & Loughs

Coumshingaun Lough

Coumshingaun Lough is an absolutely stunning lake located in the Comeragh Mountains, while it will take some effort to access the reward is well worth it and very unforgetable.

Crotty’s Lake

Crottys lake much like Coumshingaun Lough is located in the Comeragh Mountains and is another stunng location that will take some effort to access but is tottaly worth it.

Ballyshunnock Reservoir

Ballyshunnock Reservoir is a large man made lake managed by Waterford County Council. The lake has a lot to offer for those into bird watching or fishing.

Dungarvan offshore charters have something for all fishing enthusiasts whether it be sea angling, mackerel fishing, boat trips and finally whale, dolphine and seal watching.

Blackwater Kayaks & Canoes

Blackwater Kayaks & Canoes offer guided trips up and down the BlackWater River whith an option of Kayakes Canoes with team building exercises to spice things up a bit.

Ardmore Adventures
